Atwood -- Alvina Bieker, 69, died Friday, Dec. 26, 1997, at the Rawlins County Hospital, Atwood. She was born Feb. 2, 1928, in Loretto to John J. and Emma (Basgall) Degenhardt.

She married John Bieker. He died March 8, 1979. She was a homemaker and a former Hays resident.

Survivors include a son, Alvin, Atwood; two daughters, Betty and Barbara Bieker, both of Atwood; a sister, Regina Basgall, Hays; and four brothers, Sylvester, John, Adolph and Dale Degenhardt, all of Hays.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Walter.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Byrl Gibson officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. There will be a parish vigil service at 7 p.m. today at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home. Visiting times are from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.
