Betty was born May 28, 1912, to Frank and Katherine (Lechman) Frank in Montrose.
She married Valentine "Nick" Degenhart on Jan. 29, 1935, in Sterling. Nick and Betty lived in Yuma until Nick was transferred to Fort Collins. Betty resided here until May 2005.
Betty was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Angels. She was very active in the church and administered communion to the homebound for many years.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Nick; daughters, Joyce Stenson and Carolyn Elge; grandson, Garrett Clark; and son-in-law, Herbie Damm.
Betty is survived by her son, Lynn Degenhart, of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughters, Marlene Damm of Yuma, Nita Kanan, of Mesquite, Nev., and Phyllis Clark and husband, Tom, of Kingwood, Texas; sons-in-law, Jim Stenson, of Aurora and Ron Elge, of Aurora, Neb.; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Susan G. Komen Foundation at www.komen.org or any charitable organization of your choice. Baucke Funeral Home of Yuma will direct the service.
