Hays -- Edwin J. Pfannenstiel, 74, Hays, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at the Ellis Good Samaritan Center. Mr. Pfannenstiel was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Munjor.

He was a nurse's aide and a senior companion for more than 15 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays.

His wife, Grace, died in 1995.

Survivors include three sons, Kenny of Broomfield, Colo., Robert of Hays and Fred of Denver; six daughters, Rosie Beltch and Judy Schomer, both of Lawrence, Diane Pfannenstiel of Dallas, Shiela Powell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Brenda Fisher of Hominy, Okla. and Anita Fowler of Sedan; four brothers, Edward of Arvada, Colo., Art of Munjor, Vernon of Alliance, Neb., and Marvin of Sequin, Wash.; two sisters, Virginia Pfannenstiel of Hays and Irene Rome of Arvada, Colo.; 20 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, the Rev. Beryl Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the St. Francis Cemetery, Munjor. A parish vigil will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine.

Memorials may be made to the St. Francis Cemetery Fund. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m Friday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601, is handling arrangements.
