Edna E. Heid, 86, of 2835 Mt. Zion Road and a resident of Heartland the past year, died today at 4:15 a.m. at Heartland of Bucyrus. She had been in failing health the past four years.

Mrs. Heid was born in Chatfield to the late Emanuel and Rosa (Schimpf) Leonhard. On March 5, 1935, she married Samuel G. Heid, and he preceded her in death in 1981.

She is survived by a daughter, Miss Julia Heid of Bucyrus, a son, Eugene and his wife Marge Heid of Bucyrus, and two grandchildren, Nathan and Laura.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Leonhard, and a half-brother, Sylvanus Schimpf.

Mrs. Heid was a homemaker and a farm wife. She attended Chatfield Schools and lived her entire life in Crawford County. She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church, the Naomi Circle of the church and the Bucyrus Grange.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Good Hope Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Wiechers officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.

Friends may call Tuesday at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Good Hope Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, through the funeral home.
