LYONS - Richard "Dick" Stegman, 75, died Jan. 13,1999, at Hutchinson Hospital.
He was born Aug. 14, 1923, at Sitka, the son of Martin and Mary Blottner Stegman. A Lyons resident for 39 years, formerly of Garden City, Sallna and Ashland, he was a retired right-of-way and claim agent for Northern Natural Gas.
He belonged to St. Paul's Catholic Church and the Lyons Town and Country Club, and was a charter member of Knights of Columbus Council No. 7422, all at Lyons. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
On June 25, 1951, he married Lorraine Graham at Dodge City. She survives.
Other survivors Include: two sons, Robert and Don, both of Lyons; six daughters, Penny Wilson, Harrah, Okla., Vickie Keyes, Lyons, Betty Jo Evans, Wichita, and Shirley Willhaus, Alta Linden and Bonnie Russ, all of Sterling; 22 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dixie Stegman; and four brothers, Gabriel, Peter, Michael and Henry Stegman.
Parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, followed by a Knights of Columbus rosary, both at Sillin Funeral Home, Lyons. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Lyons, with Father James Hoagland presiding. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be In Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
