Mary Stegman, 82, died Monday, Oct. 25 in Ashland District Hospital, following a long illness.

Born March 11, 1894 in Russia, she married Martin Stegman in Pfeifer, Kansas in 1916. To this union five sons were born. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, and St. Joseph's Altar Society.

Survivors include sons: Gabe and Pete of Ashland, Mike and Henry of Garden City, and Richard of Lyons; one brother, Gabe Blottner, Hutchinson; sisters, Katherine Hertle, Houston, Tex., Barbara Doty and Johanna Goetz, both of Garden City, and Margaret Wanschaffe of North Dakota; 17 grandchilden and 11 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's Church with Msgr. Leo Kelty officiating. Organist was Pauline Wyner. Soloist was Mrs. Albert Anderson.

Pall bearers were Dennis Stegman, Michael Stegman, Robert Stegman, Donald Stegman, Harold Hertle and Ronald Goetz.

Interment was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Ashland. Funeral arrangements were by Archie Hale Funeral Service.
