Mr. Befort had been associated with Lee Hardware as a heating and plumbing engineer for 41 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Cathedral and the Nocturnal Adoration and Holy Name Societies. Mr. Befort graduated from the former St. Joseph's College, Hays, in 1913.
Survivors included the widow, Lena; four sons, Alvin, Francis, Edward J. and Walter; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Sprout, Mrs. Joe Daly and Mrs Kent Morgan; three brothers, E. R., William and Nick: five sisters. Mrs. Angelia Leiker, Mrs. Susan Leiker, Mrs. Pauline Van Ness, Mrs. Catherine Farrar and Mrs. Mary McSperritt; and twelve grandchildren.
