Troy -- Helen M. Daly, 81, of River St. died Tuesday June 4, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Born and educated in Kansas, she was daughter of the late Joseph and Lena Degenhart Befort.
Helen was employed for 17 years in the dietary department at St. Mary's Hospital and retired in 1983. She was an honorary member of the Troy Columbiettes and was a life member and past president of the Lansingburgh Parent Teachers Association. She was active with the Girl Scouts in Lansingburgh and the Brownies as the former Whipple School. Helen was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church in Lansingburgh.
She was wife of the late Joseph E. Daly; mother of Patricia M. Miller of Lansingburgh and formerly of Waterford and Carolyn S. MacDonald of Troy; sister of Edward Befort and Gerri Sprout, both of Salina, KS and Patricia Morgan of Mexico, MI; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford and at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 3-5 & 7-9 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in care of the funeral home office.
