Edward J. Befort, 81, Salina, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004.

Mr. Befort was born November 23, 1922, in Hays to Joseph John Befort and the former Lena Dagenhardt, both deceased. He was a salesman for Salina Supply Company for 34 years.

Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; a son, Ralph and his wife Maureen of Basehor; two daughters, Judy and her husband Larry Smith of Salina and Jeannette and her husband Charles Ludeke of Salida, CO; a sister, Patricia Morgan of Mexico, MO; four grandchildren, Emily and Erin Befort, Hans Strasser and Joe Schlick; and a great-granddaughter, Genevieve Hunter Schlick.

The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, with Rev. John Wolesky and Rev. Steve Heina officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina.

Vigil services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina, 67401.

Memorials may be made to the Salina Regional Health Center or the charity of the donor's choice.
