Mildred M. Dreiling, 90, Hays, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Hays Good Samaritan Society. She was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Schoenchen to Gabreal and Anna Marie (Degenhardt) Zimmerman.
She married Alfred Fross on Oct. 30, 1944. He preceded her in death Sept. 19, 1949. She later married William S. "Bill" Dreiling on Feb. 17, 1954, in Hays. He preceded her in death Feb. 16, 2013.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Altar Society Christian Mothers and Hays Medical Center Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing needlepoint, baking, gardening, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include three sons, Julian Dreiling and wife, Sheila, Lincoln, Neb., Larry Dreiling and wife, Tammy, Evans, Ga., and David Dreiling and wife, Amy, Colwich; a daughter-in-law, Leanna Fross, Hays; 12 grandchildren, Brandon Dreiling and wife, Crystal, Brent Dreiling, Brady Dreiling and wife, Martha, Bryce Dreiling and wife, Tricia, Joshua Dreiling, Kenton Dreiling and wife, Lindsey, Phillip Dreiling, Kevin Fross and wife, Laura, Dustin Fross, Amiee Dreiling, Danielle Marsh and husband, R.C., and Jerree Fross; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Fross; three brothers, Buddy, Jerry and Bill Zimmerman; and a sister, Cora Arnold.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 to 9:45 a.m. Friday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1906 Pine. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the funeral home.
