Daniel William Oyster
Services to Be Held This Morning for Retired Merchant
Funeral services for Daniel William Oyster, retired merchant and brother of the commissioner in charge of the fire and police department will be conducted at the home, 612 East Capitol Street this morning at 9:30 o'clock followed by solemn requiem mass in St. Joseph's Church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Mr. Oyster died Sunday in Providence Hospital.
Mr. Oyster who was 63 years old had been in the butter business in Center Market until his retirement 10 years ago. He was a member of Washington Council, Knights of Columbus. He leaves his widow, Mrs. Agnes Markriter Oyster and four sons, Fairfax, George M. 3d, William R. and F. Larmour Oyster and three daughters, the Misses Agnes, Margaret and Ellen Oyster.
Mr. Oyster had been active in civic affairs and was deeply interest in the original efforts to obtain the Eastern High School.
