Grant A. Blackman, age 75, 1100 South Lincoln, Hobart, a former resident of Valparaiso, died Saturday evening in the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. R. Agler, 702 Gardena street, Michigan City, after suffering a heart seizure.
Born Sept. 21, 1885, in Richland Center, Wis., he was the son of Eben and Matilda Blackman. On Nov. 2, 1908, he married Jessie Silkworth. She preceded him in death on April 20 of this year.
Surviving are three sons, Benton B., River Forest, Ill., Lavern, Valparaiso, and Norman, Gary; five daughters, Mrs. Mercedes Fichette, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. LaMae Stott, Hobart, Mrs. Irene Agler, Michigan City, and Mrs. Doris Michaels, Gary, and Mrs. Lois Uzelac, also of Gary; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the LePell Funeral home with the Rev. Edward Wessling, Immanuel Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
