Irene A. (Blackman) Firebaugh Agler, 89, of Michigan City passed away on Monday, Match 9, 2009 at Life Care Center in Michigan City.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery Chapel with the Rev. Donald Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow services in Greenwood Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery Chapel.
Root Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Irene was born Oct. 9, 1919, in Valparaiso, to the late Grant and Jessie (Silkworth) Blackman.
She married Vic Firebaugh who preceded her in death and she then married C. Ronald Agler who also preceded her in death.
Surviving is one son, Benton (Pearl) L. Firebaugh of La Porte; one stepson, C. Ronald Agler Jr. of Rochester, Wis.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters, Lois Uzelac of Hobart, Ind., and Doris (Wayne) Michaels of Valparaiso; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death are two daughters, Karen Firebaugh and Kathy Agler; three brothers, Benton, LaVerne "Bunn" and Norman Blackman and one sister, LaMae Stott.
Irene was retired from Jewel T as a checker after many years of service. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
