MRS. GRANT BLACKMAN
HOBART--Mrs. Grant (Jessie) Blackman, 68, 1100 South Lincoln, Hobart, a former resident of Valparaiso, died Tuesday afternoon after a lingering illness.
She was born in Minneapolis April 22, 1891. In 1909, she was married to Grant A. Blackman, who survives.
Surviving besides the husband are three sons, Lavern of Valparaiso, Benton, of River Forest, Ill., Norman of Gary; five daughters, Mrs. Mercedes Fichette, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. LaMae Lipke, Hobart, Mrs. Irene Agler, Michigan City, Mrs. Doris Michaels, Gary, and Mrs. Louis Uzelac, also of Gary; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the LePell Funeral home with the Rev. Edward Wessling, Immanuel Lutheran church, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today.
