Funeral services for Helen Mae Goering, 58, of Sterling, will be held Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Rev. Ivan E. Rundus presiding. Goering died Saturday at Sterling Regional MedCenter.
Visitation is 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Tennant Funeral Home. A family rosary will be held Monday, 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Goering was born on Aug. 10, 1933 in Sterling to Frank and Mary (Sewald) Degenhart.
She was raised in Sterling and attended St. Anthony school. Before her marriage, she was employed by Meadow Gold Dairy as a bookkeeper.
She was married, Aug. 9, 1955 in Sidney, Neb., to Donald Goering. Following her marriage she was co-owner, with her husband, in the Blue Bird Cafe and Texaco station and then in the Blue Bird Sporting Goods and Marina. Mrs. Goering was a member of St. Anthonys.
She is survived by her husband Donald of Sterling and four children. Jim and Sandy Fuller of Newcastle, Wyo.; Rick and Sherri Wilcox, Longmont; Jim and Cindy Vandenbark, Fleming, and Don and Wendy Dudley of Laramie,
Wyo. Other survivors include brothers John Degenhart of Weldona; Larry Degenhart, Orchard; and Jack Degenhart, Fort Morgan. Sisters include Rosemary Schlenz and Gertrude Bayley, both of Sterling. Mrs. Goering has seven grandchildren.
Tennant Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
