Patricia Mae Powers
VALPARAISO -- Patricia Mae Powers, 56, of Valparaiso, died Friday, Jan. 13, 1995, at home.
She was born July 3, 1938, in Chesterton, Ind., the daughter of Norman and Marie (Carpenter) Lipke.
She was a retired inspector at McGill Bearing. Her 20 years of activity with 4-H included being crowned Porter County Fair Queen in 1956. She led the Center Go-Getters for several years; she was a proud member of the Hoosier Pleasure Riders Motorcycle Club, she rode a Honda 750 SuperSport; and held the office of treasurer in the Porter County CB Club for several years.
Surviving are her father, Norman Lipke of Westville; former husband, William Powers; four children, Carrie Dawn Powers of Ludington, Mich., Blain Austin Powers of Portage, Mrs. Polly Dee Miller of Valparaiso, and Rex Ivan Powers of Valparaiso; and brother, William Lipke of Flagstaff, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1992.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 1995, at Bartholomew Funeral Home; the Rev. Dean Christianson officiating; burial at Memorial Park Cemetery, Valparaiso; visitation is 2-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice.
