Funeral Saturday For Thomas Visser Of Sioux Center
Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed church here at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 13, for Thomas Visser, 50, life-long resident of Sioux Center Community, who died at the Orange City Community hospital Thursday, November 11, following a long illness. Services were conducted by the Rev. Richard DeRidder and burial was made in the Sioux Center Community cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral home.
Pallbearers were John Davelaar, Jr., Arend Wassink, Gerald Kalsbeek, Tim DeStigter, Gilbert De Stigter and Leonard Zwiep.
Mr. Visser waa born November 30, 1914, in Sioux Center.
He is survived by two brothers, Lane of Sioux Center and Peter of Pocahantas, and a sister, Katheryn (Mrs. Wallace Schaap) of Sheldon.
He was preceded in death by his father on July 20, 1926, by his mother on January 27, 1960, by a brother,, John, who died February 10, 1964, and by a brother Peter, who died in infancy. Mr. Visser was a life-long member of the First Christian Reformed church.
