Dallas Garman Dies, Ohio Leather Retiree.
Vienna-Services will be held at 11 am Monday at the Blackstone Funeral Home, Church Hill Road, Girard, for Dallas S GArman, 77, of 1111 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, who died of congestive heart failure Friday in North Side Hospital, following a one day illness.
Mr Garman was born Aug 4, 1906, in New Bedford, PA, a son of William Nelson and Emma Gwinner Garman, coming to Vienna in 1937. He worked at Ohio Leather Co in Girard for 42 years, retiring in 1969 as a foreman in the shaving department. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Girard, VFW Post 7614 in Johnston, and the Warren Rifle Club. He was a pilot in the Air Force during World War II.
Besides his wife, the former Christine Schink, whom he married May 25, 1925, he leaves a son, Richard D of Poland, a sister Mrs Anne Schink of Liberty Twp, and two grandchildren. A sister, Mrs Esther Kinn, died in 1979.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the church.
