Mrs. Elizabeth Wauters, the mother of Mrs. Robert Price of Brooklyn, died Friday at Mercy hospital in Cedar Rapids after a long illness.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic church, with the Rev. Bernard Kamerick, pastor, officiating the requiem mass. Vocal music was provided by the Sisters of Mercy of Cedar Rapids, accompanied by Sister Mary Paula, organist. Burial was in Calvary cemetery here with Leo Warnick, Eldon Martin, Walter Waterbeck, Charles Landuyt, Julian DeGeeter and Randall O'Halloran serving as pallbearers. Flower attendants were Mrs. Peter Kline and Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Roudabush.
The daughter of John L. and Lena Stegman Stramel, Elizabeth Wauters was born July 12, 1906, at Pfurfer, Kans. She married Charles Wauters Jan. 14, 1930 in Kansas and the couple made their home on a farm near Hartwick, Ia. until Mr. Wauter's death. She had worked in Cedar Rapids for four years before coming to live here with her daughter, Betty.
The couple had two children who survive. They are Mrs. Robert Price of Brooklyn and Sister Mary Karla (Pat) of Cedar Rapids.
Other survivors include her father, John L. Stramel of Dodge City, Kans.; seven brothers, Carl Stramel of Hutchinson, Kans., Andrew of Dodge City, Kans., Albert of Brunswick, Ohio, Mike of Jacksonville, Fla., Hilary of Dodge City, Kans., Ernest of Ranson, Kans., and Malcom of Jetmore, Kans.; four sisters, Louise Schauviliege of Jetmore, Kans., Tillie Lane of Grinnell, Ida Leonhardt of Valley Center, Kans., and Katie Kropp of Spearville, Kans., and four grandchildren.
