Wigley, 52, had been active in politics and in 1968 was Dallas County chairman of the Texas-for-Reagan movement.
A Dallas resident for 30 years, Wigley was in the Air Corps in World War II and served on the board of director of several youth and sports clubs in Dallas. He was also president of the Shakespeare Festival of Dallas.
Survivors include his wife, Dale, two sons, one daughter, his mother and one brother.
Funeral services are being arranged by Sparkman-Hillcrest Funeral Home.
