Chris Behr, 83, a long-time resident of Clinton, passed away after an illness of four days. His funeral will be held at the home of his son, Detlef. Burial in Springdale Cemetery.
He was born in Berghusen, Germany September 11, 1840. Mr. Behr married Fena Fries August 3, 1866. He emigrated from Hamburg March 22, 1881 on the ship Praque. His wife and children followed in October of the same year. He resided in Chicago until May 1882 when the family came to Clinton where he remained until he died.
Survivors, one daughter, five sons, four brothers, 30 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. February 4, 1902 his wife passed away. Three children preceded him in death.
