His death occurred on June 13, 1885. He married Catherine Eisenmenger, who was born in Germany, May 10, 1838; there she grew to womanhood and emigrated to America in 1857. These parents were married at Sandwich, Illinois, April 17, 1860, and the following children were born to them: Alfred, born in Illinois, September 17, 1860, is residing on the home farm; Clara, born in Illinois, February 8, 1862, died in State Center township, September 17, 1866; Henry C. was the first one of the family born in State Center township, this county; George B., born October 5, 1865, of State Center township ; Clara, born February 8, 1867, died August 17, 1876; Emma, born August 27, 1868, is living at home with her mother; Anna, born June 1, 1870, is living on the home farm; Wilbur, born February 4, 1872, lives on the home farm; Charles, born September 8, 1873, died in 1874; Edward, born May 8, 1875, also lives on the home farm; John, born August 7, 1877, died January 26, 1878; Laura Hart, born March 4, 1881, is living in State Center township.
