En regardant attentivement ce marbre, souhaite-lui les cieux. Il vécut 64 ans. Il mourut en l'an 1521, le 10e jour du mois de mai. La mort égalise tout.
In English: To Sebastian Brant, from Strasbourg, doctor of both laws, poet and very eloquent orator, principal secretary of this city, very fair Palatine count of the Holy Empire, buried here. When watching this marble, wish him heaven. He lived 64 years. He died in the year 1521, the 10th day of May. Death equalizes everything.
