Wilma Campbell passed away on October 12, 2017 in her home in Arvada, Colorado. Wilma was born in a log cabin in Texas County, Missouri, July 31, 1918. She was the second child of sixteen, daughter of John Cyrus and Mary Francese Atchley Baty. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, five brothers, her sons, Ervin and infant Edwin Lane and her husband, Emmett.

After graduation from high school in 1937, Wilma taught 1st through 8th grades in a one room school. She married Emmett in 1939 and helped him run a country post office in Bendavis, Missouri. During World War II, Wilma and young son Ervin, moved to San Francisco, California, to be with Emmett who was stationed there in the Navy. After the war, Emmett and Wilma moved to Denver.

Wilma was active in Denver First Assembly of God Church for many years. She was Sunday School superintendent, taught Sunday School, directed Vacation Bible School, and held various positions in the church woman's group. She had a passion for missionaries and was the church correspondent to them for many years.

Emmett drove a truck over the road so Wilma stayed at home to take care of her five children. She was a Godly influence on them and her grandchildren. A great grandson once said she was the nicest, most loving person he had ever met!

Wilma loved to quilt, sew, crochet, do crafts and read. She read the entire Bible 21 times. She enjoyed Emmett's garden and spent weeks in the summer canning and freezing the bounty.

Wilma celebrated her 99th birthday in July. She enjoyed family and many friends who came to celebrate with her. Wilma was always proud of her family but she was especially proud to show off her new great-great grandson Emmett and share the picture of her holding her great-great-great grandson, Benjamin. In January 2017, Benjamin, his mother, Julianna Williams, grandmother, Christina Cagle, great grandmother, Jannette Chadwick, and great-great grandmother, Roberta Carney made the trip from Missouri to Denver for the purpose of taking a six generation picture with Wilma.

When Wilma became ill, she was able to stay at home with the help of granddaughter, Jannette Chadwick, daughters Janna and Pam, friend Shirley Olin, and Denver Hospice. Wilma is survived by four children, Bruce Campbell of Yucca Valley, California, Dana and Kathleen Campbell of Aurora, Colorado, Pam and Mike Westover of Greeley, Colorado, Janna and Marcus Bishop of Hays, Kansas, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandson, 5 sisters, 2 brothers, many nieces and nephews, and many friends!
