Services for Dr. Jackalyn Adams Weatherford, 75, South Virginia Street, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lamb Funeral Home, with the Rev. Greg Giltner officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. A native of Mayfield, she was born Nov. 26, 1932, the daughter of the late L. A. Adams and Mabel Brannon Adams. She died at 7:37 p.m. Thursday May 1, 2008 at her home following a long illness. She had taught second grade at Virginia Street School. She had been a social worker for the Bureau of Social Services. She was a staff psychologist for the Pennyroyal Mental Health Center. She was a charter member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She started the Better Nevers Sunday School Class. She is a former board member of Heritage Christian Academy. She volunteered and was a member of several civic clubs. Survivors include her husband, Bill Weatherford; two sons, Charles Weatherford, Madisonville, and Dr. David Weatherford, Nashville, Tenn.; a brother, John Adams, Mount Vernon, Ill.; two sisters, Virginia Sledge, Tucson, Ariz., and Jean McCarthy, San Antonio, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
