Victoria -- Joseph G. Stegman, 75, Rt. 1, Bison, died Tuesday night in St. Anthony Hospital.

He was a retired farmer and a lifelong resident of the Pfeifer community.

He was born March 19, 1894 in Pfeifer.

Survivors include his widow, Anna, of the home; one son, Arthur, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Mahlon (Mary Ann) Adams of Salina, and Mrs. John (Ethel) Younger of Victoria; one brother, Matt of Hugoton, Kan.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Burgardt of Menashia, Wis., and Mrs. Katie Hartman of Loretta; six grandchildren.

Stegman was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Holy Cross Church, Pfeifer. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state at Cline’s Funeral Home, Victoria, after 7 p.m. Wednesday and until the hour of the service. Three prayer services are planned. Fr. Paulinus, pastor of St. Fidelis Church in Victoria will hold one at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Fr. John Poehl, pastor of Holy Cross Church in Pfeifer, will hold another at 8 p.m. Thursday. The Daughters of Isabella will hold a third one at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. All will be held in Cline’s Mortuary.
