Bethoc Beatrix Vermandois was born abt 880 in Vermandois, Normandy, France. She was the daughter of Herbert I Vermandois (840-907) and Countess Bertha de Morvois (850-923). She was also the sister of Herbert II, Count of Vermandois, and was a descendant in the male line of Charlemagne through King Bernard of Italy.

Beatrice married Robert "King of France" (866-923) in 890. King Robert was the son of Robert the Strong, count of Anjou (820-866) and Adelaide of Tours (818-866). Robert became the king of France in 922.

Robert and Beatrice were the parents of the following 2 known children: Emma of France (894–935), married to Rudolph, Duke of Burgundy and Hugh the Great,(898-) who was later dux Francorum. Hugh was the father of Hugh Capet, King of the Franks.

Through her marriage to Robert I, she was an ancestress of the Capetian dynasty. On 15 June 923 her husband Robert was killed at the Battle of Soissons shortly after which their son Hugh was offered the crown but refused.

Bethoc Beatrix (Vermandois), Queen of France died aft March 26, 931 in Soissons, Aisne, Picardie, France or in Paris, France. She was 51 years old. Burial information is not known at this time.
