At 25 years old, emigrated to the US on the barque "Wursata," arriving at the Port of NY on 30 Sep 1856, after setting sail in Bremen, Germany. Listed his occupation as "maurer," or stone mason. Also on board was his 16-year old future wife, Christine Degenfelder and her 20-year old brother, John. Kaspar and Christina settled in Alden (Erie) then Buffalo (Erie) NY.
