Mrs. Ruth Howard McMillan was born December 19, 1893 in Hickman, Kentucky, the daughter of William F. Barnes and Clara Colley Barnes.
She married John F. McMillan on March 27, 1915 in Cairo. Surviving children are Mrs. Mary Kathryn Spitzner of Flora and Mrs. Helen Huffman of Carbondale. A son, Commander Franklin B. McMillan of the U.S. Navy, was killed July 24, 1954, in a plane crash in Italy.
Mrs. McMillan was a member of the Royal Neighbors, B. of R. T. VFW Auxiliary, Spanish American Auxiliary, Rebekah Lodge and Egyptian Ladies Garden Club.
Ruth McMillan died at the age of 75 at Doctors Hospital.
