Bio
Born 1946, Chandler OK; US Army, Vietnam, 1968-69; Ph.D. University of Kansas, 1976; current residence: Tokyo, Japan.
Author of two books of family history: "North of Deep Fork: An Oklahoma Farm Family in Hard Times," which deals with Lincoln County; and "The Fate of Bones: Adventures in Family History," which follows the Pound/Pounds family from Virginia in the mid-1600s to Oklahoma at the start of WWII. Available from Amazon.
In 2015 I published a group of non-fiction stories about early-day killings in Lincoln Co. Oklahoma called THE LONESOME DEATH OF BILLIE GRAYSON. It is available on Amazon.com in a second edition.
My latest books are two, both collections of carefully researched narratives. The first is about outlaws called WYATT EARP IN YAMANASHI, the second about lawmen called LIVES OF LAWMEN, MOSTLY OKLAHOMANS. The third is called WHISKEY TOWNS OF OKLAHOMA, about pre-statehood Oklahoma and another on the fate of black teachers in OK after desegregation was mandated in 1955. All are available on Amazon.
Update 6 Nov 2023. An additional book: THE GHOST ROADS OF FALLIS OKLAHOMA AND OTHER TRAILS.
