Bonnie Jean Walters, age 71, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born the daughter of Alfred "Bud" and Lenora (Molendorp) Buss on June 3, 1940, at home in Parkersburg. She was baptized into the Christian faith and later confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Parkersburg. She received her education and graduated from the Parkersburg High School in 1958.

On June 27, 1958, Bonnie was united in marriage with Lee Walters at the Bethel Lutheran Church. They lived their entire life in Parkersburg. She worked at the former O's Gold Seed Company and later ASGROW in Aplington for 30 plus years. Bonnie also worked for her daughter Jerri, as a Customer Service Specialist for Cedar Valley Medical Monitoring Company in Parkersburg for about 15 years.

Bonnie was an active and faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She had a very strong faith, had taught Sunday School and Bible School and was a member of the Women's and Quilting Groups.

Through the years she loved to go bowling with her family and friends and was a member of various bowling leagues. She loved playing all sorts of board games, cards, bingo and gambling. Most recently she was playing scrabble on line with Words With Friends. Some of her favorite things were her flower gardens and Christmas time. Her pride and joy was her family, all of their get-togethers they shared including every Sunday noon family dinner, watching her children and grandchildren playing sports and attending various other activities, and getting to spend time with her great-grandchildren.

Bonnie died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, from natural causes. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janni Muller; a grandson, Kristopher Walters, her parents; one sister, Joyce Hinders; two brothers, Gary and Bennie Buss; and a brother-in-law, David Wiegmann.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Lee Walters; two sons, Kory (Deb) Walters of Parkersburg, and Kurt (Michelle Bradford) Walters of Dike; one daughter, Jerri (Joe) McCracken of Parkersburg; one son-in-law, Dennis Muller of Parkersburg; 17 grandchildren, Nick (fiancée, Tagney Jones) Walters, Becky Walters, Marie Walters, Kreg (Emily Floyd) Walters, Stephen Walters, Kasey Walters, Stacia Walters, Cole Hoing, Nathan McCracken, Nate Ray, Joseph McCracken, Jr., Brandon McCracken, Trista (Bryan) Benham, Kyle (Carrie Spree) Muller, Samantha (Cody Wiegmann) Muller, Amber Muller and Ian Muller; 9 great-grandchildren, Brecken, Berkley, Journey, Kennicyn, Madison, Kalli, Lexie, Tinley and Tripp; three brothers, Marvin Buss of Allison, Joel (Diane) Buss of Parkersburg, Mark (Marilyn) Buss of Parkersburg; seven sisters, Dee (Walt) Scheidecker, Karen (Jim) Webber of Charles City, Renee (Bob) Yost of Shell Rock, Peggy (Darwin) Miller of Parkersburg, Jan Wiegmann of Parkersburg, Kathy (Lee) Aalfs of Parkersburg, and Cindy (Roy) Henning of Clarksville; a brother-in-law, Jim Hinders of Clarksville; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at the Bethel Lutheran Church with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery both in Parkersburg, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Parkersburg, (319)346-1534, and one hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
