Born Anastassios Veloussi, in the border town of Qyteze (native name Qyteza), in the County of Korçë, as of 2015 in Devoll Municipality, Republic of Albania. Son of Demetrula Kosta and Adam Veloussi.
In 1906, he married his first wife, Katherina Sedheris. In 1908, their son Christo was born.
In 1911, he arrived in America for the first time, to work as a laborer in Akron Ohio, while his wife and son remained in Albania.
By the end of 1918, Anastassios had been widowed, was remarried to Vassiliki (aka Vasila or Vasilo) Manika, and she had his second son, Adam Veloussi.
In September of 1920, after their daughter Kostandina was born, Anastassios Veloussi returned again to America. First to Akron, where in November of 1922, he submitted his Declaration of Intention (file# 15-571) in Akron, under the name of Anastas Adams.
By July 1923, he relocated to Chicago, Illinois and in April of 1927, he filed his Petition for Naturalization (#33961) in the local District Court, as Anastas Adam Beloushi. Included was his additional request for a legal name change to Anastas Adam Belliori, which was granted with Naturalization in October of 1927 (certificate# ). Also noted, is that in 1927, his son Christo was already living in Greece. While Vassiliki, Adam and Kostandina remained in Albania.
In 1930, his third son, Peter was born, and by 1934, his son Christo had already immigrated to America, as he married Maria Rompala in Cook County, Illinois and was aka Chris Belwish. They had at least two children.
In 1939, daughter Kostandina (aka Connie) married Paul Sotir Samataukas (aka Samatas), in Akron, Ohio, and had at least four children.
In 1946, son Adam, married Agnes Demetra Samaras, also in Akron, Ohio and also had at least four children.
In 1954, his eldest son Peter, married Marian Betty Demir, and had at least three children.
Anastas had the following known grandchildren: Anastas Thomas and Dennis Belwish. Marian (husbands Rodney and ?) Miles Doherty, John Adam (Judith) Belushi, James Adam (Sandra, later Marjorie and of last Jennifer) Belushi, and William Adam Belushi. William Samatas, Sr, Kathleen (William) Phillips, Thomas (Cathy), and Christ Paul Samatas. Karen (? Gillespie), Philip and Eric Belushi. [note: grandsons John and Jim are the infamous SNL comedians, actors, and musicians aka The Blues Brothers, Ghost Busters, etc.
