Named vice-parish priest of San Lorenzo in Damaso, in 1910 he became one of three founding members of the "Unione Professionale fra i Netturbini Romani" at the Piazza della Cancelleria Parish.
Named chaplain of the Buona Morte at via Giulia in 1913, he pitifully took care of the recovery of dead people from the countryside according to the old rule of the association, transporting them to the morgue which had its premises at the Basilica of San Bartolomeo all'Isola. Thanks to his initiative, aided by several dustmen, he had re-established the Sacconi Rossi Confraternity at the Isola Tiberina in 1914.
Founding the "Segratario per l'Assistenza Sociale fra il personale della N.U.", he had it renamed on the advice of the Cardinal Vicar of Rome, as the "Pia Opera Maria Santissima della Strada", with premises at the Oratorio del Gonfalone. Soon the institution had some 6,000 members, including scavengers, Atac drivers, porters, gardeners, dogcatchers and non-commissioned officers for public safety.
During the Second World War, in March 1944, he founded another co-operative, assisting hundreds with houses, furniture and clothing.
Don Ariodante passed away in Rome on April 11, 1963, aged 79, and was buried in a simple vault at the Campo Verano, following the celebration of a funeral Mass at the church of Santa Lucia del Gonfalone.
