Mrs. Chambliss, 89, passed away at the Butterfly Wing of Baton Rouge Hospice. She was a native and long-time resident of Marksville. Irma Lee was a 5th grade teacher for 30 years in Marksville. She attended Northwestern State University and received her B.A. degree from Southwestern University of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, T.O. Chambliss; her parents, Otride and Ida Roy Jeansonne; a sister, Ura Coco and three brothers, Harry, Burnette and Alton Jeansonne. Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Judy McDonough and her husband, Jay of Baton Rouge; two grandsons, Dan McDonough and his wife, Sherri of Hot Springs, AR and Troy McDonough and his wife, Jennifer of Denver, CO and two great grandchildren, Lily and Isabelle Rose.
Visitation will be at Hixson Brothers Funeral Home, Marksville, on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 from 5 pm - 7 pm and on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 from 9 am - 9:45 am.
