Emil L. Seman, 89, of Chippewa Township passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in the Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, South Beaver Twp.
Born Dec. 5, 1922, in Beaver Falls, a son of the late Frank and Julia (Vargas) Seman. Emil was a World War II Air Force veteran reaching the rank of captain in the Army/Air Force. Additionally, he served in the reserves of the Air National Guard. He was a retired supervisor for Westinghouse Electric and was a member of Christ the Divine Teacher Church, formerly St. Ladislaus, where he sang in the choir for many years. He was also the past exhaulted ruler for the Elks Lodge 283, Rochester.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by his wife of over 64 years, Alice (Biro) Seman, Chippewa Township; two daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine A. Brown and her husband, Rev. Dr. Curtiss L., Venice, Fla. and Karen S. Madden and her husband, Steven, Kent, Washington. Also surviving are two grandchildren, James E. Berk Jr. and wife, Debbie and Sara A. Madden, and two great-grandchildren, Miranda K. and Logan J. Berk.
Friends will be received today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the LUTTON CHIPPEWA FUNERAL HOME. Funeral prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12 noon in Christ the Divine Teacher Church, Chippewa Township.
Interment will follow at Beaver Falls Cemetery where the Veterans Honor Guard will meet to conduct full military honors at 12:45 p.m.
