Mrs. Catherine Scheidt, 61, Dies Today At Local Hospital
Mrs. Catherine Scheidt, 61, widow, of the late Henry Scheidt, life-long
resident of Sheboygan and Manitowoc counties, died at 6:50 a.m.
today at St. Nicholas hospital after a linger illness.
Mrs. Scheidt was born June 14, 1874, in the town of Meeme, the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Adolph. She attended Catholic school
there, and on May 1, 1894 she was united in marriage to Henry Scheidt
in St. Isadore's church in Osman.
Three children blessed the union all of who are living. Her husband
preceded her in death by approximately two and one-half years.
Children who survive are Peter and Joseph of Cleveland, and Mrs.
Pau Schwinn of Sheboygan. There are 11 grandchildren and one brother,
Peter Adolph of the town of Meeme. Mrs. Scheidt also is survived by
four sisters, Mrs. John Halfeltz and Mrs. Elizabeth Adolph, both of the
town of Meeme; Mrs. John Siehr, Menasha, and Mrs. Frank Schill,
Cleveland.
She was a member of St. Dominic's church and of St. Ann's Christian
Mother society. She was a kind and loving mother, devoted to her duties
and to her family.
The body will be taken to the home, 2117 Cooper avenue, at 2:30 p.m.
Sunday where friends and relatives may view it until time of services at
8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The services at the home will be followed by a
requiem mass at 9 o'clock at St. Dominic's church. The Rev. George
Knackert will officiate. Interment will be in the family lot at St.
Wendel's cemetery.
