Francis J. Theis, age 85, formerly of New Riegel, now residing in Tiffin, Ohio died Saturday July 12, 2003 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 16, 1918 in New Riegel, Ohio to Edward and Ursula (Gruss) Theis. He married Marguerite M. Reinhart on Jan. 27, 1951 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, New Riegel, and she survives.

Also surviving are Irene (Chris) Sours, New Riegel; Shirley Feck, Findlay; Susan (Cameron) Dorey, Conway, AR; a son Roy Theis, Tiffin; and eight grandchildren, Alicia Sours, Chicago, IL; Josh Sours, Norfolk, VA; Jake Sours, New Riegel; Jonathan Feck, Findlay; Ashley and Michaela Theis, both of Tiffin; David and Andrew Dorey, both of Conway, AR.

Preceding him in death were a daughter, Anita Theis, in 1968; a brother Elmer Theis, and Martha Wasserman.

Francis was a life time farmer; and retired from Seneca County Garage in 1978.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #354 in New Riegel for over 60 years; and Catholic Knights of Ohio for 77 years.

He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a WWII private in the Army.

A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday (July 16) at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with a rosary being said at 9:45 a.m. prior to services. He will be buried at St. Boniface Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoffmann-Gottfried Funeral Home, Tiffin. A Wake Service will be 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
