Mabel E. Shady, 80, of Wild Goose Apartments, 105 Elm St. Oakfield, died Sunday, March 28, 1999, at Grandcare nursing Center.

She was born on Feb. 9, 1919, in Brandon.

On Jan. 30, 1937, she married Melvin H. Shady at Brandon. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1988.

Mrs. Shady worked at Waupun Shoe Factory and Romort Manufacturing Co. in Oakfield. She was a membe of Church of Peace. She enjoyed watching bowling and wrestling, doing crosswords and playing bingo.

Survivors include three sons, Rudy “Butch” (Carole) of Ripon, Gerald “Bum” (Nancy) and Roger (Mary Etta) both of Oakfield, nine grandchildren, Kim (Diane) Shady of Ripon, Mike (Carrie) Shady of Oshkosh, Mark (Nicki) Shady of Brookfield, Michelle (Paul) Muche of Fond du Lac, Melisa (Tory) Kuphal, Tim (Susan) Shady and Tammy (Jim) Wiese, all of Oakfield, Roxanne (Randy) Bille of Waupun and Kevin Shady of Ripon; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Orin (Dorothy) NItschke of Fond du Lac and Dennis (Sue) NItschke of Alto; one great-aunt, Marie Peachy of Waupun; and a special niece, Viginia Dewitz of Oakfield.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her mothe, two brothers, Lloyd and Alfred; and special grandparents, John and Anna Redmann.

Services: Funeral services were held this morning at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. The Rev. Gerald Bertsch officiated. Burial was at Avoca Cemetery, Oakfield.

Visitation: Was held Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Church of Peace.
