Russian-Italian ballerina, choreographer, teacher and director of teaching Italian. Her pseudonym "Ruskaja Jia", meaning "I am Russian," was used for the first time by Anton Giulio Bragaglia. She fled Russia after the October Revolution in 1917, with her father, an official of the Russian Army. She married in 1920 Daniel Evans Pole, and they had a son. She arrived in Italy, where she married Aldo Borelli, director of the Corriere della Sera and became an Italian citizen in 1935.
