The Pasquinelli family came to the United States sometime prior to 1900, because they are listed on the 1900 Elk County, Pennsylvania Census (although the name has been spelled Beskenelli). According to the census, the family are all "aliens" who cannot speak English, and the men are all coal miners.
At some point between this 1900 census and his marriage in 1911, Jour Pasquinelli changed his name to John Emmett (sometimes spelled Emmette), became an American citizen, and moved to Greene County, TN.
On August 13, 1911, John married Minnie Laughlin, the daughter of Andrew J. Laughlin and Savannah Chapman Laughlin. John and Minnie had three children: Grace Leona Emmett, Robert Emmett, and Maynard Taylor Emmette. Minnie passed away in 1929.
John married his second wife, Sylvia Essie Malone on August 16, 1930 in Greene County, TN. They had three children: Louise Edith Emmett, Annabelle Emmett, Rosa Lee Emmett.
