Commanding Major General Joseph White Brown was involved in the Indian Wars ( Blackhawk ) and received his commission as Chief authority over the Territory of MI from Pres. Andrew Jackson. He was the Founder of Tecumseh MI and operated a stage coach between Chicago IL and Detroit MI that made an overnight stop at his hotel in Tecumseh.
He was also involved in a dispute over the Federal Survey lines between the State of Ohio Governor and himself as to the Boundary of Ohio and Michigan AKA The Ohio MI War that didn't amount to casualties and but turned out to be an incident but they had saddled 800 and 900 riders to come against each other ....It turned in to a legal court dispute in where MI would concede to adjust the Boundary line in return for The upper Peninsula of MI being incorporated to the Territory under his Command. Honorary Member Society of the Cincinatti , Served Board of Regents U of MI...first Justice Lenawee Co. MI.
