A small gray granite pillow head marker, with polished top and rough sides, reads: "CARR SIZEMORE // 1848-1898 // HUSBAND OF // CAROLINE (JOHNSON) PRATER" - marker was recently placed by Walter SIZEMORE of Talequah, OK, after a wooden casket in an unmarked grave was struck when a new grave was being dug about 3 years ago. This grave is adjacent, on the south side, to that of Caroline SIZEMORE (1856-1911), which is marked with an upright marble headstone that appears to date from the period of her death. There is enough blank space for an unmarked grave on the other (south) side of Carr, and there is a blank space on the north side of Caroline. Caroline is said to have been from Madison County, Arkansas. Carr is said to have been born in Kentucky, the son of Harmon and Susan SIZEMORE, and m1. 17 AUG 1867 in Clay County, Kentucky, to Louvina JONES (Marriage Book 1, file 15), but they had no issue and were divorced in 1876 in Clay County. Carr was tried in 1892 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas, for introducing liquor in Indian Territory, in which his brother-in-law Albert CLUCK and step-son James DOWDEN were witnesses - however, it was determined that Carr was drinking the liquor, rather than selling it, and he was acquitted. No record to this wife (nee CLUCK, previously married to DOWDEN) has been found. It is reported that Carr and Caroline had a daughter, Martha SIZEMORE (07 JUN 1893-29 DEC 1970 Fort Worth, Tarrant County, Texas - died a widow), who married in Texas to Robert KEENER.
