Funeral services for George F. Stoltz, 91, of 904 West Main, will be conducted 2 p Friday from the Chaney- Walters Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Riverside cemetery.
Mr. Stoltz, a resident of Logan County since 1906, died Saturday in a Sterling nursing home.
He was born Jan. 13, 1887, in Illinois, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian Stoltz. He homesteaded in the Leroy community in 1906 and married Elizabeth Koenig in Sterling the same year.
The couple came to Sterling in 1922 where Mr. Stoltz operated an automotive service and in 1927 the couple moved to a farm northwest of Sterling where they farmed until 1934 when they returned to Sterling and started the Star Coal and Lumber Co., a firm Mr. Stoltz operated for 41 years before retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Stoltz died June 13, 1954. Mr. Stoltz was a member of the Protestant faith fn
He is survived by two sons, Harold Sto1tz, Denver and Ronald Stoltz of Sterling; a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Carey of Longmont
