Wife of Brig. Gen. Egbert Benson Brown married 13 October 1845 at Saint Louis, St. Louis County, Missouri, United States

Last name believed to actually be Davison other Davison or Davidson names appear on a page from a bible belonging to her husband Brig. Gen.Egbert Benson Brown located in St. Louis at the Historical Society library records.

There on the name was spelled as Davison.....so....?.....Reviewing other military documents written by BG EBB they don't reflect him having a habit of misspelling things so....?

They married October 13 1845 as listed on the bible marriage records page.

Another marriage listed on that page is Daniel Davison to Sallie Miller 1815 or 18

Which would put them married about or around her time of birth......with the fact also added that Her and Egberts first born was named Sallie D. gives possible unconfirmed appearance of them being her parents....

Other listings include Davisons under births and deaths that appear as siblings possibly with two sisters dying listed by maiden name....as of this writing 08 2019 I haven't yet searched out all these additional names.....

But point being in the othet family reference book " The George Brown family " there are no listings for her family and no other listed Davidson or Davison extended family listed at all so there is no reason for Egberts bible pages to list them unless they are his wifes family.....

1850 Census shows them at Tolefo OH where Egbert was a merchant and the Mayor in 1852.....then they moved to St. Louis where he was a Railroad mngr. until the war.

SO....for stated reasons I believe the ( d ) was added mistakenly in her last name whether at death or in 2007 when her deteriorating stone was replaced by the joint stone .

Anyway two issue resulted from the marriage the first being Sallie D. Brown Dodge from marriage to Col. Isaac Dodge in 1864.....( location and information sought for both )

And second issue was my second great grandfather Joseph Brown located due west of this plot which additional information regarding the circumstances surrounding his early death preceding his mother Mary is sought....

Mary preceded Egbert in death....

I have found no connection to other Brown located in this cemetery but there were 14 or 15 other lines of issue of the George Brown family that descended from Falls township ....

( now Falsington )....Bucks CO. PA

Which were not documented in the family book.....so.....that is what it is until such time unconnected links are made by the other family lines or if I live long enough to stumble onto them....a few have been discovered who were females married into other prominent families such as the Wrights and Yardleys in PA
