Mrs. Pope, 79, of Alexandria, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010, at Our Lake of the Lake Hospital, Baton Rouge, Louisiana
She attended Friendship Baptist Church in Pollock. Mrs. Pope was a devoted sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Pope; sons, William P. Pope and Kevin N. Pope; parents, Thomas J. and O. V. Blaylock Smith; brother John D. Smith and sister, Willie Mae Woods.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Mike Pope & wife Phyllis, Dennis W. Pope & wife Patricia, Robert G. Pope & wife Rosa; daughters, Betty J. Vervwyvelt & husband Ralph, Marilyn P. Aillet & husband Chip; brothers, W. T. Smith, Billy J. Smith, Eddie L. Smith; sisters, Bobbie R. Williams, Betty L. Hart, Geraldine Boren, Alice Kopp; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Pope, Eric Pope, Kevin Pope, Ronnie Stevens, Jr., Patrick Pope and Barry Paul Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Kopp, Bruce Michiels and Ronnie Stevens, Sr.
