Clara K. Cowan, 88, of Arlington passed away peacefully at home Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009.
Funeral: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tate Springs Baptist Church, 4201 Little Road, Arlington. Burial to follow in Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, Kennedale.
Clara was born Dec. 19, 1920, in Dallas. She attended Southwest Theological Seminary and was a retired church secretary. She was a very strong woman with many talents and passions, but her true joys in life were her family, friends and serving the Lord. Clara was an active member of the senior adults program at Tate Springs Baptist Church.
The family would like to express appreciation to the wonderful staff at Universal Hospice and to all of her dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, James Cowan; first husband, B.B. Morton; second husband, Aubrey Grant; and Kenneth Cowan to whom she was married 41 years.
Survivors: Daughter, Billie Geist and her husband, Richard; son, Duffy Grant and his wife, Chris; daughter, Penny Stephenson and her husband, Billy Mark; her grandchildren, Gayla, Christie, Scott, Kevin, Kenny, Katie, Josh and Beau; and great-grandchildren, Hayden, Luke, Ella, William, Jack, Caroline, Garrett and Allyson.
