Oriette Aagaard, age 93, of Minnetonka MN, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2023.

Oriette Muriel Hope Gunnarson was born on March 4, 1930 to Olaf and Hannah (Lien) Gunnarson in Roberts County SD.

She spent her childhood at the family farm with her younger brother, Orace, and graduated from New Effington High School in 1947. In 1948 Oriette was united in marriage to Marlowe Stenson. After attending a year of college at Concordia in Moorhead, they returned to New Effington and made it their home for many years, raising two children. Oriette enjoyed time with church activities and choir. She spent much time with family and kids' school activities and worked at the Bank of New Effington. In later years they relocated to Minneapolis where their marriage ended. Oriette then spent and enjoyed much of her working career managing Hennepin County District Court offices. She met and fell in love with William Aagaard and they married in 1975. They were a happy, outgoing and social couple and enjoyed an active life. Together they golfed, bowled, traveled to Europe, vacationed annually in Hawaii, and actively participated in their church. Despite this busy life, Oriette's love for her grandchildren always shone through. She shared her busy life with them and they were always a priority. She was also a great gardener and enjoyed so many happy years with her kitties Marty, Sven, and Thor.

Oriette is survived by brother, Orace Gunnarson, daughter, Rebecca (Hubert) Quaid, their children Samuel (Ronnie) Quaid, Hannah Quaid; stepson, William (Sandy Isackson) Aagaard Jr, and his children William Aagaard lll, Brian Aagaard, and Amy Nihart; great grandchildren Abigayle, Ethan, Braylon, Caiden; her special sister-in-law and forever friend, Janet Benson; her special nieces Jane Leen, Jody (Jim) Kutter, Wendy (Pat) Stickland, Julie (Billy) Otto, Pamela Gunnarson and many more friends and relatives.

Oriette is preceded in death by infant older brother Gunnarson, her parents, two husbands, son Michael Stenson, and her three cherished kitties. As a blessed coincidence, Oriette's sister-in-law Joan Gunnarson passed away two days after Oriette passed.

Oriette was a little dynamite and was loved by (and will be missed by) all who met her. She had a deep-seated zest for life and an interest in learning about everyone and everything. She was quite a conversationalist and ALWAYS asked, "Where are you from?" She exuded happiness and loved having fun.

Oriette very much appreciated the loving care she received in her final days at MN Masonic Home in Bloomington.
