WINTHROP, June 19 — Funeral services for Charles Hopkins, 76, 10 Willow terrace, a descendant of Stephen Hopkins of Rhode Island, signer of the Declaration of Independence, were held today at the Henderson Funeral Home, Rev. Ralph M. Harper, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church, officiated. Burial was in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose.
Mr. Hopkins who died Tuesday at Winthrop Community Hospital, after a lingering illness, was a native of Neponset and had resided in Winthrop more than 50 years. He was a retired employee of the Boston News Bureau, and was a member of the Winthrop Masonic Lodge, A. F. & A. M., and Everett Lodge of Elks.
