Our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Vicki Ann Jaynes Andersen, 73, passed away unexpectedly March 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.

Vicki was born March 26, 1945 in Lehi, Utah, to George LeRoy Jaynes and Annie Caroline Proctor Jaynes. She attended schools in Lehi and Pleasant Grove, graduating from Ogden High School. Vicki also attended Brigham Young University and beauty school.

The most important year of her schooling was her senior year at Ogden High where she met and fell in love with her eternal companion, Freeman Cooley Andersen. After Freeman served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they were married and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They loved and cared for each other to the end of this life and will continue in the eternities.

She loved visiting with family and friends at any time of the day or night. If you were not her friend, it was only because you did not know her.

One of her greatest spiritual gifts was the ability to love and care for children and for them to fall in love with her. She was affectionately referred to as the “baby whisperer”. She spent endless hours holding her grandchildren and mesmerizing them with her soothing voice and light fingernail scratching on their arms. She could sing them any song ever written and with perfect pitch.

Vicki was immensely blessed with many talents. She was extremely intelligent and would be the perfect “phone a friend” if one was ever needed.

Family History was a passion that kept her busy countless thousands of hours. She had many friends here on earth, but often commented that she had many more on the other side of the veil. Most she is now meeting for the first time, while others visited her in this life.

She loved to dance, sing, garden in her green house, paint, sew, cook (she was an awesome cook), photograph everything (and we mean everything), digital scrapbook and travel. She loved the Pacific Islands and while in her second year at BYU, she studied abroad in the islands of Hawaii, Samoa, Tahiti and New Zealand, where she fell in love with all things Polynesian. But, her favorite thing of all was spending time with her husband, daughters and grandchildren.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as an avid visiting teacher, ministering sister, ward historian, Relief Society and Primary presidencies and many other callings. Her favorite calling by far, was Primary chorister teaching children the songs about Jesus Christ, where she bore her testimony through song to children most of her life.

Her husband said that “she survived him” and is “survived by him”. (Survivors edited for privacy). She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Carol, as well as her Brother Frank Jaynes.

Our family would like to thank all of her doctors, nurses, caregivers and emergency responders that she has worked with over the last many years.

Interment in Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
