"MRS. LUBRECHT FUNERAL SET

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Louise Lubrecht, 93, mother in law of John Steven McGroarty, California poet laureate writer, will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church, Tujunga. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Lubrecht died Wednesday at the Tujunga home of her son-in-law, with whom she had resided since coming to California in 1890. Born in Wurttemberg, Germany, Mrs. Lubrecht came to America with her parents when she was five and settled in Hazelton, Pa.

Later she was married to Christian Lubrecht, who served as a lieutenant in General Custer's calvary during the Civil War. She moved to Freeland, Pa., where she conducted a millinery business before coming to California.

Mother of the late Mrs. John Steven McGroarty, Mrs. Lubrecht leaves two sons, Louis H. Lubrecht, San Gabriel, and William C. Lubrecht, Bonner, Montana, and one grandson and four granddaughters."

Further research has found her parents to be:

Ludwig "Louis" Karl Kreyscher (b. About 1824), and Wilhelmine Heinrike Speidel (b. About 1828). This family immigrated to the U.S. from LeHavre to New York, arriving March 29, 1852, on the ship "Helvetia." She married Christian Lubrecht (b. About 1833 Died About 1879 in Pennsylvani).
